M17 Divine Comedy

In a beautiful, muted lake scene, faint gold light reflects on gentle ripples. Dotting the far end of the lake are waterfowl coming home to roost for the night. Still farther, the shadows of trees lining the shore provide a contrast with the remaining daylight on the lake’s surface.

The narrative about this picture written by the artist states that the five lovely swans at the lower end of the image have come to greet their human friend, the photographer, who is standing on the shore with her camera at the ready. It’s a cold winter evening, and yet, like the warm light of dusk, an even warmer love exists among human, animals and nature. The scene contains no dramatically colored flowers or bright moonlight, just a quiet, peaceful feeling of rest in Mother Nature.
